Stand Down House is a 32 bed facility in Lake Worth, Florida with a three-tiered approach to integrating veterans with physical and/or emotional wounds back into meaningful and productive living. John planned, initiated and successfully completed the “Stand Up for Stand Down” effort in which he stand-up-paddleboarded across the state of Florida (approximately 155 miles from the St. Lucie Inlet on the Atlantic to the Sanibel Causeway on the gulf coast). He and his team raised over $20K for Stand Down House. Crossroads Club is a facility in Delray Beach, FL that provides a safe haven for anyone whose life has been adversely affected by, or through, the use of addictive substances. John served as a board member and as Treasurer between 2006 and 2020. | |
Veterans Restoration Quarters in Asheville, NC provides 250 supportive housing beds to veterans at varying levels of intervention of it’s “Steps to Success”, including; Stabilization, Life Skills Training, Education and Certifications, and Reintegration (into permanent housing). John serves as a volunteer. |
